Angrezi Babu (“the app”) is an English-learning app. This page explains what data the app handles and how.
No accounts, no sign-up
Angrezi Babu does not require you to create an account or log in. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier.
What’s stored on your device
Your learning progress — XP, streaks, completed lessons and roleplays, quiz results, word familiarity, and your chosen avatar — is saved only in your browser’s local storage on your own device. It is never uploaded to our servers and is not accessible to us. Clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app will erase it permanently.
AI tutor chat & roleplay
When you chat with the AI tutor or practice a roleplay scenario, the text you type is sent to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate a reply and grammar feedback. This text is used only to generate that response and is not stored in a database or used to train any model. If no AI service is configured, the app falls back to built-in offline responses generated entirely on your device.
Voice input & text-to-speech
If you use the microphone button, speech recognition is handled by your browser’s built-in Web Speech API — audio is processed by your browser/device (and, depending on your browser, its own cloud speech service), not by us. Spoken replies from your AI tutor use your device’s built-in text-to-speech engine. We do not record, store, or have access to any audio.
No ads, no analytics, no third-party tracking
Angrezi Babu does not show ads and does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not sell or share any data, because we do not collect any to begin with.
Data deletion
Since all progress data lives only in your browser’s local storage, you can delete it at any time from the Profile tab (“Reset progress”) or by clearing your browser’s site data for this app. We hold no copy of it to delete on our end.
Children’s privacy
Angrezi Babu is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
